Creativity, imagination, and artistic expression have always been my tools for finding some semblance of peace in the chaotic worlds in which I find myself. With each art form, I find that  I discover something new  about myself and  gain a better understanding of self.  Painting challenges the academic mindset that has trained my mind to focus on results, best possible outcomes, and obsesses of "perfection." It pushes me to focus more on the process, the conversation with the canvas and the subject matter. I enjoy painting elements of nature for the serenity it brings me, eyes because they can speak and tell a completely different story than your face, abstracts allow me to listen solely to my intuition, and the images that appear in my dreams.
